Roshini
3 years old, Yamuna Khadar, Delhi
At three years of age, Roshni is quite an energetic child. Her family moved from Mumbai fifteen years ago and have been living in Yamuna Khadar, Delhi. When we met Roshni she was extremely energetic and continually fought with the other children, even her mother struggled handling her at home. Her mother was quite happy to have Roshni out of the house for a few hours as she continually needed supervision as she seemed to create trouble wherever she went. Roshni would not listen to the teachers and would exert the same behaviour from home.
Our team continued to apply our rules with Roshni and as she continued to come more regularly, she began to change in her behaviour. She began to listen to her teachers and fight less in class. We began to see her adopt the good habits we taught at the school, such as washing your hands before food and showering regularly. Today, she still shows reluctance in her written work but her change in behaviour is evident, her parents are so glad she is attending school and we aim to help her for government school admissions. When she is not in school, Roshni loves playing ball with her friends, but her most favourite thing to do is ride her pet dog named Moti and pretend she is riding a horse.
