Anjali

4 years old, Tukhlakabad

Anjali is the youngest daughter of Ram Naresh Saha and Bina Devi, she has one brother and two more sisters, making them a family of six! They have been living in Tukhlakabad for the past 8 years. Every single day is a struggle for them to earn enough to feed and educate and nurture the six. It is no news that a single child comes with a lot of requirements and responsibility, to think of parents doing so for six children on minimum wages is unbelievable. And yet they do day after day.

In their resolve to continue to educate and care for their children they began sending Anjali to the Hope School. All her sisters have been a part of Hope School as well. Earlier on, she found it hard to adjust to the school and the kids around her, but gradually she got used to the environment. She has improved a lot in her studies, she does all the work and activities given to her wisely and smartly. She dreams of being a Teacher one day. She is one of those kids who loves having fun. She does not hesitate to dance, it being her favorite hobby so far. Even at her age it is easy to tell how much she respects her parents for the sacrifices they put in for her, especially with her education. We value that quality in her and we wish to see it grow.
